    ArmedConflict 3 logo

Build a visual dashboard for exploratory analysis of historical data on armed conflicts worldwide.

We invite individuals and collectives to start or join an open source software team dedicated to build a platform which aggregates data and makes it accessible to researchers in an easy-to-use interface and via storytelling.

Millions of people are affected by conflict and this data analytics platform can help social and political analysts better understand the causes and effects of conflict. Your solution will be a valuable tool for researchers, analysts and peace activist studying conflict worldwide.

This is the third round of this challenge. You can see the progress made during the previous rounds by visiting these solutions from Northeastern University project prototype (round 2) and from Rutgers University (round 1).

    Challenge Phases & Timeline
Throughout all phases below, teams are encouraged to interact with the core team at the challenger organizations to discuss the requirements for this project.

    1. Formation of Teams (self-organized online and offline). Using the Unite Ideas website, project leaders can submit their ideas for architectures and approach while volunteers list their skills and offer to join their team(s) of choice. You don’t have to be in a team, you can also work independently. (Phase ends on Nov 2, 2018)

    2. Submission & Collaboration. Individuals or self-organized team(s) implement their solution. Please submit your solution before this phase ends to be considered. (Phase ends on Dec 14, 2018)

    3. Review phase. During this period, a panel will review the solutions submitted to select the most successful ones. (Phase ends on January 14, 2019).

    Expected Outcomes
